At the recent Annual Conference of the British and International Federation of Festivals for Music, Dance and Speech, the Feis Administrator, Timothy McCarthy, was awarded a Fellowship for services to the Festival Movement.  This is the first time such a presentation was made.  There were six recipients including Cork Feis Adjudicators Marilynne Davies for Music and June Rayner in Speech and Drama.

At the same Conference Timothy McCarthy was elected Vice-Chairman of the Federation, an international body representing Festivals and Adjudicators worldwide.  Timothy will serve for a term of three years.
