It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our colleague and friend, Eleanor Malone. RIP.
Eleanor had a life long involvement with the Cork Feis, as a performer, teacher and for the last 40 years, member of the Feis Advisory Board. Both her parents were involved in the background as well and her father, John Malone, was the Press Officer for many years.
It was always a joy to meet with Eleanor and to discuss Feis matters. She had ideas to share and was enthusiastic about the opportunities the Feis afforded all participants. Even since her retirement she was happy to serve and only a few months ago we discussed other roles that she carry out.
Many things have been written about Eleanor in the last few days, but the one quality that stands out is that she was a lady in every sense of the word.
Her wise council and wise advice will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace.
